Firing Up Your Community Spirit: Lend your skills, talent or time in support of the fire company—and feel great while doing it

When you sit down and think of ways that businesses and individuals can help the fire company—the ideas are endless. But at the heart of it all is a willingness to work together to strengthen and secure the local community.

While financial contributions are always valued, there are many creative and satisfying ways to lend a hand beyond monetary donations. Maybe you have a special talent or donation of goods to offer. Perhaps you can rally your network to promote the fire company’s mission. Any level of involvement or donation is appreciated.

Research has found that participation in voluntary services benefits a person’s mental and physical health, in addition to helping lift one’s sense of life satisfaction, self-esteem and overall happiness. That’s one of the reasons we want to personally invite you to join the  Hand-in-Hand Fire Company—however you wish. Get those creative juices flowing and let your interests lead the way. Volunteer at an event, organize a fundraiser at your home or company, or think of your own unique way to contribute.

The key is just getting involved. It’s an incredibly rewarding experience that allows you to directly impact the community we all call home. And who knows, you may make some new friends along the way too. We’re glad to have you aboard.

  2. Volunteer at a fundraising event
  3. Share fire safety information with friends and neighbors
  4. Attend a fundraising event
  5. Host a fundraiser at your business or home
  6. Organize a group to participate in the Bird-in-Hand Half Marathon
  7. Move out of the way of fire trucks or vehicles responding to fires and other emergencies
  8. Donate food, products or materials to a fundraising event
  9. Help with business and administrative operations
  10. Volunteer to help maintain the lawn and exterior of the firehouse
