Human Resources Committee Formed

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.In the last two years, there has been a major shift to focus on the Fire Company’s human resources. We are only as good as the team we have. Hand-in-Hand has seen an increase in volunteer sign-ups, along with strong community involvement. With the influx of people and an ongoing list of tasks and jobs, the need to organize was apparent, so an official Human Resources Committee was formed. Paul Fisher, current Fire Company President,  manages the new Human Resource Committee and its three subcommittees.

The HR Committee is comprised of three subcommittees, each focusing on a different task:

1.  Recruitment & Retention:  Tackles both recruiting new people for all areas and how to keep them long-term.

2.  Knowledge & Skills:  Identifies the expertise that is needed by our members to fulfill our mission and creates the programs and structure to provide these skills and knowledge. It includes training in all aspects of emergency skills as well as the theory and principles underlying a successful fire company.

3.  Organization & Response:  Identifies and defines the specific needs of the fire company and organize all available human resources to meet those needs as effectively as possible. This change in administration and implementation of structure has minimized the tasks that fall through the cracks. We’re getting better at allocating the right people for the right jobs.
